The program of the Manuel Irujo Fellowship was designed in 2016 by Dr. Nerea Arruti as the Visiting Research Fellow, whose research interests focus on the interaction between memory, literature and visual culture. Dr Arruti inaugurated the Chair with the 2016 Manuel Irujo Visiting Research Fellow guest lecture, Nostalgia for the Future: Old Bilbo & Art as Failing Better, on 11 February 2016. They also organized a one.day Basque Event.
